In September 2019, the Foundation will welcome the 11th cohort of male and 4th cohort of female Football Fans in Training. We’re looking for men and women to join the hugely successful 12-week course that has been proven to help you lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle.

The course is open to all men and women aged 35 to 65, with a waist measurement of 38” and above. Your trouser size can however fall below this.

Public Health Swindon and Swindon Borough Council have been instrumental in supporting Swindon Town Community Foundation with the Football Fans in Training initiative, which has helped over 300 local football fans become healthier and lose weight, with a combined weight loss of over 360 stone.

Many of their past participants are now taking part in regular weekly activities to maintain their healthier lifestyles. Some have taken part in the London Marathon, the RunVEMBER challenge, walking groups and six-a-side friendly fixtures.

A past participant said I would recommend this course to anybody; it’s really worked for me. As a group we’ve worked to find what has worked for each person individually, because it is very different. How you fit things in to how you live, and work, and your family, is different, and I think it’s just finding what works for you.

It’s been real, and that’s the key thing to me. We’ve talked about how people will go out for a drink and do it sensibly. People will get a take-away and keep within a healthy lifestyle. It’s not you can’t do this’, you can’t do that’, you can’t eat such-a-thing’. So, I think that’s Important, and I think because its pragmatic and real, it’s had results for everybody”.

We are be running another 12-week course of Football Fans in Training from 19th September and you too can change your life for the better.
