• E W Beard Ltd., S & C Slatter, and FieldTurf have been chosen as the construction partners for the delivery of the new community sports facility.
• It was important to Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust, that where possible, the contracts go to companies based in Swindon and the South West of England.
• All construction partners are now on site, and we hope that the £2.4m community sporting hub will be operational as of the summer, and fully completed before Winter this year.

Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust are proud to confirm that our partners in the construction of the new £2.4m community sporting hub, will be the Swindon based E W Beard Ltd., and S & C Slatter – who are also based in Newbury. The surface of the artificial pitch will be installed by FieldTurf, who have provided the training pitches used by Manchester City, Barcelona, and Juventus football clubs, amongst others.

“With support from our design team we went through a comprehensive tender process when selecting our construction partners for our new community facility and we were extremely pleased to offer the contracts to two local companies. As a Community Trust it was important for us to ideally utilise local companies where every possible in this project and to have this level of investment spent in the local economy is another benefit to this project. Construction is now underway on the facility; we’re hopeful that the 3G artificial pitch will be operational and in use by the summer, and Swindon Town Football in the Community will be moved into their new home by the winter of this year.

Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust has worked with the Football Foundation and Swindon Borough Council to secure a grant of £1,000,000 from the Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund towards the project.

“Since 2000, the Football Foundation has awarded 166 grants worth £6m across Wiltshire towards grassroots sports projects worth £22.8m and it is great to hear that Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust will be the latest beneficiary.

Funding from the Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund, delivered by the Foundation, will support the club in developing a brand new facility for the local community. Made possible by investment from the Premier League, The FA and the Government, via Sport England, the Fund is supporting the grassroots game by improving access to high-quality football facilities across the country.”
