Twilight Football
News
The Twilight Football programme is run in connection with the Swindon Street Games Project. The project continues to offer
opportunities to teenagers to engage in football sessions during the evening. This initiative programme is partly funded by Swindon Borough Council and the Big Lottery Fund which was set up in conjunction with the Wiltshire Constabulary, Swindon Probation Services and Wiltshire Education to reduce anti social behaviour within the Borough of Swindon. The programme offers five sessions with over 100 people engaging on a weekly basis. The youngsters are also given the opportunity to progress and take their level 1 in football coaching qualifications, in addition to becoming qualified referees. The project offers some of the participants a chance to work in sport, for which most is their dream. Some are now working as Coaching Assistants on behalf of the Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust at After School Clubs, Soccer Centres, Development Weeks and the Streets Game project itself. Twilight Football is currently delivered in the following areas of the Borough: — Walcot @ Youth First — North Swindon @ Isambard Community School — Old Town@ Quarry Road — West Swindon @ Link Centre 3G pitches ‑Park North @ Goddard Park For further information please contact Ziggy Wardale on 01793 421303 or alternatively you can email him at ziggy@stfc-fitc.co.uk
