Tackling Loneliness Together

News

Posted Aug 13, 2020

As part of our commitment to the EFL Trust’s #TacklingLonelinessTogether programme, we sent out 600 face covers and letters to our elderly fans, explaining that we’ll be contacting them soon to check in.
Over the coming weeks we’ll be calling around for a chat and to find out how they’re getting on.

We know that many of our elderly fans will have a support network in place of family and friends, but this project aims to identify those who aren’t so fortunate. For those who want it, we are offering the chance to set up a regular phone chat, and also if they’re comfortable with it, front gate visits. Ultimately, we aim to be able to set up regular group meeting in the form of coffee mornings, and to be able to steer people towards our Extra time programme, which is now approaching it’s 12th year.

Being alone should not have to mean being lonely.

Be social

We love our supporters.

And we love what we do. But we couldn’t do it without these great people that get behind us. Be a supporter.
