Swindon Town FC Community Foundation

After almost thirty years as Football in the Community’, we would like to announce that we are changing our name to

Swindon Town FC Community Foundation.

We were founded in 1991 as FITC with the aim of providing excellent sports education in the Swindon area, and helping to engage the town with its local professional football club. From that handful of weekly children’s soccer centres and school visits, we have grown to an organisation that engages around 3000 participants every week from the ages of 2 to 82, in activities ranging from delivering PSHE lessons in schools, to horse riding with our Extra Time group.

For this reason, we feel that Football in the Community’ does not fully encompass who we are, and our aims of enriching every segment of our community. To make our aspirations completely clear, we have made the decision to rebrand to Swindon Town FC Community Foundation. We aspire to continue to be an integral part of our community, and to have the potential to benefit every person, of every age, from every walk of life, in Swindon and the surrounding areas.

That being said, we still believe that Football in the Community’ remains at the heart of what we do, so we will continue to wear this slogan with pride.

This is an immensely exciting time for us as an organisation, as the construction of our purpose-built community sporting hub progresses, and as we further expand, we strive to innovate and challenge ourselves to find new ways to serve our community.
