Engagement Day[/caption] In conjunction with the Street Games Programme, STFC Football in the Community Trust were delighted to host and deliver an Engagement Day aimed at 16 local teenagers. The day focused on preparing the participants to look at the basic elements of football coaching, whilst giving them the opportunity to experience the positive elements of what is required to be a creditable role model and organised football coach. The day which was presented at the County Ground, was structured to encompass elements of theory and practical sessions, giving all 16 youngsters the opportunity to engage and contribute within the activities. Lunch was provided for all the potential future coaches and the interaction and engagement from everyone individually and collectively was extremely positive. The workshop which was led by Shane Hewlett and Ziggy Wardale proved to be a major success, giving the young delegates the basic knowledge and skills to help them when they progress to their FA Level 1 courses in the future. Ziggy Wardale from the Trust who delivers the Twilight Coaching Programme stated, “The day was excellent, with all the lads giving their full attention and commitment to what we had on offer. It will be useful for all the participants to add their certificates of attendance to their portfolios, which may help them with their chosen career paths in the future.” [caption id=“attachment_5548” align=“alignright” width=“300”]
