Swindon Town Community Foundation Host Premier League Kicks Cup!
Swindon Town Community Foundation proudly hosted the Southwest and Wales regional Premier League Kicks Cup, delivering both a mixed and girls’ tournament that showcased the power of football to bring young people together.
Young people taking part in Premier League Kicks sessions, which engage and inspire those at risk of anti-social behaviour, youth violence, or from high-need areas, represented their clubs and foundations for a chance to progress to the national competition. The programme continues to provide opportunities through football, positive activities, and personal development.
A total of 16 teams competed across the two tournaments, with Cardiff City crowned champions of the girls’ competition and Swansea City lifting the trophy in the mixed event after an exciting day of football.
The event also featured multi-sport activities in our Dome, an educational workshop and a special guest appearance from freestyle footballer and Swindon Town Woman’s player, Taylor Macdonald, who wowed participants with an impressive performance before delivering a skills session, giving young people the chance to learn new techniques and express themselves through the game.
The Assistant Head of Foundation and Premier League Kicks Lead, Andy Tye, said:
“The tournament highlighted the incredible impact of the Premier League Kicks programme, bringing together young people from a wide range of backgrounds to enjoy the game, learn important lessons, and compete in great spirit.
“We would like to wish our winning teams, Cardiff City and Swansea City, the best of luck in the national competition.”
We would like to thank the Premier League for giving us the opportunity to host the event and look forward to hosting more events like these in the future at Foundation Park.
We love our supporters.
And we love what we do. But we couldn’t do it without these great people that get behind us. Be a supporter.
