Swindon Town FC’s Community Foundation coaches recently visited Royal Air Force Brize Norton in Carterton to deliver a three-day football camp for children of RAF personnel.

The camp provided an exciting opportunity for boys and girls aged between 5 and 15 to develop their football skills in a fun and engaging environment. Each session included a warm-up, technical coaching activities and competitive matches, allowing participants to put their newly learned skills into practice.

With temperatures remaining high throughout the week, coaches ensured there were plenty of opportunities for players to take breaks, rehydrate and cool down in the shade, helping everyone stay safe while enjoying the sessions.

The aim of the camp was not only to improve football ability but also to promote social interaction and educate participants on the importance of teamwork, communication and maintaining an active lifestyle. Across the three days, players demonstrated great enthusiasm, sportsmanship and a willingness to learn.

After two days of coaching at RAF Brize Norton, the camp concluded with a special celebration day at Foundation Park. Participants were treated to an exclusive tour of the Swindon Town FC stadium before taking part in tournaments inside the Dome and testing their abilities in a variety of Skill Zone challenges.

The event finished with a presentation ceremony, where players were recognised for their efforts throughout the week. Trophies were awarded to the Player of the Week winners, while competition winners also received prizes for their achievements.

The three-day camp proved to be a fantastic experience for everyone involved, creating lasting memories while helping young people develop both on and off the pitch.
