Want to turn your passion for football and coaching into a career? This is your last chance to apply for our FdSc Community Football Coaching and Development degree, delivered in partnership with EFL in the Community and the University of South Wales.

This innovative programme combines academic study with real-world practical experience, giving you the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed in football coaching and community sports development. Designed alongside industry experts, the course prepares students for employment across grassroots football, community organisations, and professional club foundations.

Here are five key parts of the FdSc course:

Study the theory, strategy, and structure of the football and community sports sector
Gain a strong academic foundation by exploring how football and community sport are organised, funded, and delivered. You’ll examine key policies, development strategies, and the role football plays in supporting health, education, and social inclusion within local communities.

Gain hands-on coaching experience through practical sessions and placements
Put theory into practice with regular coaching sessions and work-based learning opportunities. You’ll gain valuable experience delivering sessions to a range of participants, helping you build confidence, competence, and a professional coaching portfolio.

Learn from industry professionals with modules shaped by current best practice
Our modules are designed in collaboration with experienced practitioners working in the football and sports development sector. This ensures the content reflects current industry standards, trends, and employer expectations, giving you an up-to-date and relevant learning experience.

Develop key community engagement and leadership skills valued by employers
Beyond coaching, the course focuses on communication, leadership, safeguarding, and community engagement. These transferable skills are highly sought after by employers and are essential for working effectively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
