Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust’s Annual 6‑a-side Tournament is set to take place again in May 2014, which will be
held at The County Ground, Swindon Town F.C. This year’s tournament will be raising money for the 2014 Zambia Project — a project that will see the Community Trust team visit the African country in the near future. The tournament will take place on the County Ground Pitch on the following dates: Saturday 17th May- AM (Report at 8am & 8.30am start) – Under 7’s & Under 8’s
Saturday 17th May PM (Report at 12.30pm & 1pm start) – Under 11′s Boys & Under 11′s Girls
Sunday 18th May AM (Report at 8am & 8.30am start) – Under 9′s & Under 10′s As in previous years the U7, U8, U11 Girls football festivals will be run on a non-competitive — “festival of football” basis, with all the children receiving a memento in recognition of their participation in the event. There will be additional awards for the most sporting team in each age group, as voted for by the tournament match referees.
The U9, U10 & U11s Boys categories will initially be run on a league basis before going forward to a Knockout stage. There will be trophies for the winners and runners-up in each age group. Age groups are relevant to this Festival season (2013÷2014) i.e. all players must be under the stipulated ages as of midnight 31st August 2013. This tournament will be affiliated to the Wiltshire County Football Association and ALL teams must be affiliated to their relevant county football association. Places are going fast and as of 3rd April, the following places remain: U7’s : 6 Spaces left U8’s : 5 Spaces left U9’s : 5 Spaces left U10’s: 5 Spaces left U11’s Boys : 6 Spaces left U11’s Girls: 5 Spaces left It costs £40 per team and cheques should be made payable to S.T.F.C Community Trust. We have a maximum of 18 teams per age group and will be operating on a first come first serve basis. The deadline for entries is Friday 2nd May 2014.
