Swindon Town FC Community Foundation have proudly announced the naming of the new covered sports facility as the Nigel Eady Training Centre’ in recognition of Nigel’s legacy and the wonderful support and contribution received from the Nigel Eady Trust fund towards Foundation Park.

The Trust was set up on the passing of Nigel Eady, a Swindon Town Fan who bequeathed his estate to Swindon Town FC under the stipulation that it was to be used to benefit the local community. The Foundation received a considerable donation from the Trust during the construction of Foundation Park and the new covered sports facility. This will provide vulnerable groups such as the very young, and people with disabilities, the opportunity to play in a sheltered location, whatever the weather.

Head of Foundation, Jon Holloway said: We were incredibly honoured to receive the initial contribution from the Nigel Eady Trust towards the construction of Foundation Park, and its humbling to be chosen to receive an additional endowment to enable us to build a covered facility as part of the Foundation Park complex. We’re thrilled to be so close to delivering a covered sports facility for the people of Swindon and naming the facility after Nigel will make it extra special.

We believe that the new facility will provide the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of our community, with new opportunities and ways to engage within the heart of the community, whilst also building upon the success of Foundation Park, and increasing the capacity of the overall site. Enabling us to run additional services and provide additional provision for play and training.”
