We are excited to announce the launch of our new Social Inclusion Multi-Sports Session, in partnership with The Premier League Charitable Fund & The Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Swindon and Wiltshire.

The session has been designed to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of background or ability, can come together to enjoy the benefits of multi-sports! This initiative offers a diverse range of activities — from dodgeball and basketball to less traditional sports, ensuring that there’s something for everyone. The session’s focus is on building confidence, fostering friendships, and promoting physical and mental well-being in a supportive space.

Phillip Wilkinson of Swindon & Wiltshire PCC, was enthused by the idea of this new type of session.

“The ethos of the PL Kicks scheme extends much further than football, as the skills young people learn in the sessions from experienced coaches in terms of decision making and teamwork transcend the white lines of the playing field.”

“I believe that sport can play an important role in offering diversionary activities to young people which provide alternatives to them becoming involved in anti-social behaviour (ASB) and more serious crime. By offering a multi-sports element, this makes it more attractive to a wider range of people.

“The team at the STFC Community Foundation Trust have created a successful blueprint with PL Kicks, in areas of Swindon where ASB and knife crime are a serious concern for local residents. It’s programmes like this which form an integral and effective part of the overall package to reduce crime and I look forward to seeing the new sessions in action.”
