If you read the match-day programme on Saturday, you would have seen our new regular feature: Naet Investigates!

Naet is a long time participant of the Foundation’s activities and has recently started in Year 7 at Commonweal School. When he approached us about writing something for the programme we jumped at the opportunity. Throughout the season, Naet will be attending a range of the Foundation’s programmes and sessions, and giving a different point of view of our activities!

Here’s his first report on our Holiday Courses!

Naet Investigates… Holiday Courses!
Hi! My names Naet and welcome to Naet investigates. In this section of your matchday programme, you will hear all about Swindon Town Community Foundation’s sessions and my experiences at Foundation Park.
This summer, I attended the STFC Community Foundation Summer courses, for weeks two, four and five, and all I can say, is that I really enjoyed myself! From meeting STFC First Team players, having my boots signed, to getting player of the tournament in the final week, this report will tell you all about my summer at Foundation Park.
I am no stranger to these courses, having been attending them since a young age. Therefore I already had a few friends from previous courses who had also had decided to return once again. During the week, we played many fun games such as Shotgun’, a fast-paced shooting game, and King of the Ring’, a more defensive minded game.
In week three, I got my boots signed by Harry McKirdy and just when I thought things could not get any better, in Week Four I had the surprise of winning the Kid of the Week’ award, presented to me by the Swindon Town FC Captain Angus Macdonald.
Making new friends is one of my favourite things about these courses, and in my final week I did exactly that, they were even going to my new school! We played many fun sessions, and finished off the week with a football tournament. Even though my team came last, I still received player of the tournament.
At these Camps, you do not need to be the best footballer, but you have to have the best attitude. They are good fun, and I would definitely recommend them to any boy or girl who might not have ever kicked a ball.
Give it a go, I love them!
