Local SEN Youngsters Excel in Prestigious Fixture
News
This year’s Special Educational Needs fixture between youngsters from across the county took place last week which saw the STFC
Football in the Community Wiltshire SEN Squad take on the Marlborough Junior Colts on Monday afternoon.
The Squads were selected at the trials in November 2013 where they were picked from 3 schools; Downlands, Notton House and Springfield Academy. Trials were conducted by former Bristol City player Marvin Brown, Becky Hull & Clive Maguire who selected the players in two teams to play in this prestigious fixture. Clive Maguire, Scheme Manager said: “It was a great afternoon, with all the players enjoying the matches as much as the food and hospitality after the game provided by Marlborough College. I’d like to pass on my sincere thanks to Matt Gow at Marlborough college who arranged the Pitch, Referee and refreshments after the game. All the players were presented with commemorative medals to mark the occasion.” It is hoped that the squad will be treated to a friendly fixture on the County Ground Pitch sometime in May 2014.
