The Staying Connected Programme is a social inclusion initiative aimed at reducing loneliness and social isolation among older members of the local community. Originally established during the COVID-19 pandemic, the programme was created to support elderly Swindon Town supporters through regular contact and online engagement during a period of unprecedented isolation.

Since then, the programme has evolved into a thriving weekly community gathering held at Foundation Park. Participants enjoy coffee mornings, quizzes, interactive activities and opportunities to socialise in a welcoming environment. The sessions also regularly feature guest speakers, including current and former Swindon Town FC players and staff, providing unique experiences and fostering stronger community connections.

By bringing people together, the programme plays an important role in enhancing wellbeing, encouraging active lifestyles and helping older residents remain engaged, connected and supported within their community.

Swindon Town FC Community Foundation is extremely grateful to Liam Place and Utility Warehouse for their support of the Staying Connected Programme. Their partnership will help ensure the programme continues to make a positive impact on the lives of older people across the local area.
