Kit Out The Nation
4th of September — 16th of October
In partnership with BBC Radio Wiltshire, Swindon Town FC Community Foundation are taking part in Kit Out The Nation.
What is this Campaign about?
Kit Out the Nation’ is a BBC month long Make a Difference campaign aimed at taking in and distributing unwanted, good condition sports kit and getting it to children and teenagers who need it. It will mirror the ‘Give a Laptop’ campaign, working with partners around the country. For more information on the campaign, please follow the link below: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/1RvmVJyvX0PYv2vxG4rRbQS/kit-out-the-nation
Why are we doing this?
We’ve long known of the issue around access to sport and exercise because of the affordability of kit. The situation has been compounded by the pandemic and this is our chance to help to improve that situation. As the Department for Culture, Media and Sport highlighted, it is of great importance for children and young people to engage in at least 60 minutes of moderate activity every day, subsequently if we as a Foundation can improve sporting uptake by providing young people with the appropriate kit, then this opportunity was not something we could miss out on as a Community Foundation.
How can you support?
If you have any old or unused sports kit in good condition that can be passed on to a child in need please donate to our facility at Foundation Park. Our Foundation Park facility will be open Monday-Friday, 9 — 3 PM:
Foundation Park,
County Ground Lane,
Swindon
SN1 2FD
We love our supporters.
And we love what we do. But we couldn’t do it without these great people that get behind us. Be a supporter.
