During the recent October half-term, we were thrilled to host our three-day Football Camp here at the Foundation. The event brought together over 140 enthusiastic young players, all eager to improve their skills and have fun on the pitch. Across the three days, the children took part in a variety of engaging sessions, including skill-building drills, exciting football challenges, mini-tournaments, and plenty of matches. 

The camp wasn’t just about playing matches, it was also about the children building confidence and teamwork. Our coaches worked hard to make sure every participant, no matter their ability level, felt included and supported. It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces, new friendships forming, and players showing great sportsmanship throughout the camp.

On the final day, the children were surprised wth a special guest in Swindon Town striker Jake Tabor. Jake spent time with each group, sharing what it takes to become a professional football player. He talked about his journey, the challenges he’s faced, and the importance of hard work and perseverance. The young players had the chance to ask him plenty of thoughtful questions too.

To top it all off, Jake even joined in on the action by taking part in a 1v1 against one of our coaches! The children were absolutely thrilled, cheering on Jake when he slotted it past our coach. It was a fantastic way to end a brilliant camp.

We’d like to give a huge thank you to Jake for taking the time to visit and inspire our young footballers, and an equally big thank you to everyone who attended and made our three days of football so special. 

If you weren’t able to join us this time, don’t worry, we’re already looking forward to our next Football Camp, which will take place in February. We can’t wait to see even more young players getting involved and making new memories on the pitch!
