Harrison Minturn Wins Our PFA Community Champion Award!
Swindon Town F.C. defender Harrison Minturn has been recognised for his exceptional commitment to the local community following months of dedicated work with the Swindon Town Community Foundation.
After suffering a season-ending ACL injury, Harrison showed incredible character by using his recovery period to give back to the community. Rather than stepping away from the game completely, he approached the Foundation with a genuine desire to get involved, support local sessions, and make a positive impact across Swindon. Since then, he has quickly become a highly valued member of the Foundation team.
Throughout the season, Harrison has worked across a wide variety of weekly sessions, coaching and inspiring young players from Under-5s and Under-6s right through to Under-16 age groups. His enthusiasm, professionalism, and positive attitude have made a lasting impression on both participants and staff alike.
In addition to his coaching commitments, Harrison has attended a number of charity events and supported local schools through surprise visits, creating memorable experiences for young people across the community. His willingness to dedicate his time and energy while recovering from injury highlights the type of person and role model he is.
Beyond football, Harrison has also played an important role in mentoring young people within schools, particularly supporting those facing mental health and wellbeing challenges. His approachable nature and encouragement have helped inspire confidence and positivity in so many young people throughout Swindon. Simply by showing up, listening, and engaging with participants, Harrison has brought smiles to countless faces across the Foundation’s programmes.
To recognise his outstanding commitment and continued support for both the club and the wider community, Harrison was proudly presented with a special award. The presentation was made by the Foundation’s Girls U14s ETC side, a team he has regularly coached, supported, and inspired throughout the year.
Everyone at the Foundation would like to thank Harrison for his incredible efforts so far this season, and we look forward to continuing to work alongside him in the months ahead.
We love our supporters.
And we love what we do. But we couldn’t do it without these great people that get behind us. Be a supporter.
