Foundation set their sights on Snowdon

News

Posted Jun 16, 2025

Swindon Town FC Community Foundation staff and participants from the Football Fans in Training (FFIT) programme are climbing Mount Snowdon to raise funds for the John Trollope MBE Statue.

Led by Foundation staff Andy, Paul and Shane, the team of 16 climbers includes current and former FFIT participants, all of which will tackle the Llanberis Path, which stands at an impressive 1,085 metres above sea level and covers roughly 9 miles (14.5km) in total.

The climb offers an opportunity for the Foundation to re-engage with past FFIT participants and maintain that sense of community, accountability, and achievement that underpins the programme. It gives these individuals a chance to reconnect post-programme, and continue reinforcing the positive health and lifestyle habits they’ve developed.

All funds raised from the climb will go towards the John Trollope MBE statue — honouring one of Swindon Town’s most iconic figures and celebrating his legacy at Foundation Parkx.

Best of luck to all 16 climbers!
