Football Fans in Training fifth cohort
News
On Saturday 22nd April, our fifth cohort of Football Fans in Training were presented with their certificates after finishing their 12-week programme. The certificates were presented to the course participants by Cherry Jones, Director of Health Improvement from Public Health Swindon.
Public Health Swindon and Swindon Borough Council have been instrumental in supporting STFITC with the Football Fans in Training initiative, which has helped over 150 local Football Fans become healthier and lose weight, with this recent group being no different, collectively losing 30 stone.
The success of the fifth group further shows what a huge impact that the Football Fans in Training programme has on the lives of its participants. Many of our participants are now taking part in regular weekly activities to maintain their healthier lifestyles. Just one of the many achievements from past FFIT participants is Robert Clark, who took part in the second cohort of FFIT and lost over 3 stone in weight. This week Robert successfully completed the London Marathon which was a huge achievement and one of his personal Goals.
The next course is starting in September and for more information on this hugely successful Healthy Lifestyle initiative, contact Jon Holloway via email at jon@stfc-fitc.co.uk or call the Community Trust on 01793 421303. [caption id=“attachment_6275” align=“alignright” width=“300”]
