Commonweal C6[/caption] Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust are delighted to be partnering one of the oldest secondary schools in the Town, Commonweal, with this exciting new Programme. This excellent new iniative is aimed at post 16 year old students looking to further enhance their sporting education by giving them the opportunity in pursuing a long term career within the sports and leisure industry. Recruitment for the course is well on the way with the target being 35 students, boys and girls to kick off the new term as from September 2016. The students will undertake their studies to either A level or Vocational qualification standard. In addition the students will train 3 times a week whilst participating in weekly fixtures against other professional football clubs such as Southampton, Cardiff City, Swansea City to name but a few. The students will also have the opportunity to engage in Coach Education Sessions leading them onto taking their FA Level 1 qualifications. This will run parallel to the work experience opportunities where each student will shadow senior qualified coaches at Football in the Community in coaching sessions at local schools and leisure centres within Swindon and the surrounding areas. Clive Maguire Trust Manager said ” We are looking forward to meeting lots of excited students at the C6 Open evening at Commonweal School on November 30th at 6.30pm. We are looking for young people with a passion for the game of Football who not only wish to develop as a player but also look at enhancing their confidence in becoming a competent FA Coach. We are looking to recruit students from all over the County of Wiltshire and beyond” If you would like more info on the Football Education Programme then please email shane@stfc-fitc.co.uk or call the Community office on 01793 421303
