Celebrating Down's Syndrome Awareness Day
Swindon Town Community Foundation was proud to celebrate Down’s Syndrome Awareness Day alongside our incredible DS Active group.
On Wednesday, the group came together in great spirits, proudly wearing their odd socks, a meaningful and uplifting tradition that highlights individuality, promotes inclusion, and celebrates the beauty of differences It was fantastic to see so many participants embracing the occasion with enthusiasm, helping to spread such an important message in a fun and positive way.
Our Down’s Syndrome Active sessions, which take place every Wednesday, continue to provide a supportive and engaging environment for all involved. These sessions are designed to encourage physical activity, boost confidence, and create opportunities for social connection, ensuring that everyone feels welcome, valued, and included. The energy, laughter, and sense of community seen each week are what make this group so special.
We are incredibly proud of everyone who takes part and the positivity they bring, not just on awareness days but throughout the year. Initiatives like these reflect our ongoing commitment to making sport and activity accessible for all, while celebrating diversity within our community.
If you or someone you know would like to get involved and be part of this fantastic group, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Scott@stfcfoundation.com for more information.
We love our supporters.
And we love what we do. But we couldn’t do it without these great people that get behind us. Be a supporter.
