6 a Side Tournament and Festival of Football Saturday 6^th May and Sunday 7^th May 2017

Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust will be organising a Six-a-Side Football Festival in 2017 on the weekend of Saturday 6^th May and Sunday 7^th May to raise funds for their community projects in Zambia and to help develop the beautiful game in that part of Africa. Tournaments will be held for under 9’s and for under 10’s on the Saturday morning and for under 11’s and for under 12’s in the afternoon. These will be on a league basis before going forward to a knockout stage with trophies for the winners and runners-up in each age group. There will be Football Fun matches for under 7’s and for under 8’s on the Sunday morning with all the participants receiving a memento of the day with additional awards for the most sporting team in each age group as voted by the referees. Matches will be played in the four corners of the County Ground pitch and players must have been under the stipulated age for their group on 1 September 2016. Clubs who are affiliated to their county football association can enter two teams in each age group which will have a maximum of 10 teams. The fixtures and times of matches will be made available nearer the Festival weekend and teams must report on the Saturday and Sunday morning at 9.00am and on the Saturday afternoon at 1.30pm. The Festival and Tournament are both 6 a‑side events with each squad having a maximum of 9 players per squad.
