[caption id=“attachment_5638” align=“alignright” width=“960”] Football Fans in Training[/caption] The STFC FitC Football Fans in Training participants did us proud at the weekend where they participated in the National 7 a side in Edinburgh. Swindon White and Swindon Red gallantly contested against strong opposition throughout the day with teams being represented by Aberdeen, Celtic and Rangers to name but a few. Incredibly the Swindon Reds who were beaten 5 – 0 by Hamilton Academicals in their first group game managed to battle their way through to the final of the sixteen team tournament where they faced Hamilton again. A tightly contested game ended in a 0 – 0 draw with the mighty Reds clinching the silverware by winning the penalty shoot out 4 – 3. It was a truly memorable weekend with everybody having a fantastic time and we would like to offer our sincere thanks to our counterparts in Scotland and the SPFL Trust. The next course, which is aimed at male football supporters between 35 – 65 years of age with a 38 inch plus waist starts in September.
