We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Joel Sycamore on the 1^st of February this year, a friend of the STFC Community Foundation and a much-loved character in the Swindon community. 

Last weekend, a large group of Joel’s closest friends and family members joined together to climb up Mount Snowdon, a feat that Joel had completed last year.

The group of 22 set off on a long, winding route that took them up Snowdon in perfect conditions and easy hiking, until the group reached the clouds where extreme weather conditions including high winds and hail made it extremely difficult to progress. With perseverance however, the group made it to the summit. Once there, they laid down personalised stones down to commemorate Joel’s life, and of course took their STFC flags with them!

Joel’s freinds and family willl be arranging a minutes applause to celebrate Joel’s life during the 20^th minute of an upcoming game, so please keep an eye on our social media for details.
