3/3 Wins For Our STFC C6 Teams!
It was a fantastic start to 2026 for our Swindon Town FC Community Foundation C6 teams, who enjoyed a perfect Wednesday on the road by securing three wins from three matches, supported by some outstanding individual and team performances.
The action began with our Boys 1s, who progressed in the cup following an emphatic 10 – 3 victory over Newport County. The team delivered a dominant attacking display, with Jonathan Amponsah Asamoah and Finlay Mowe both producing outstanding performances by scoring brilliant hat-tricks. Their clinical finishing, combined with strong teamwork throughout the side, ensured a convincing win and a place in the next round of the competition.
Our Girls 2s continued the momentum with an impressive 6 – 2 away win against league leaders Wycombe Wanderers. The performance was full of energy and confidence, highlighted by a stunning long-range goal from Catherine Cloughton, which marked her first goal of the season. Freya Llewellyn delivered an exceptional all-round display and was deservedly named Player of the Match, playing a key role in the team’s success.
The day was rounded off in dramatic fashion by our Boys 3s, who secured a hard-fought 2 – 0 clean sheet victory against Bristol Rovers. In a tightly contested match, the breakthrough came late, with Jamie Edney scoring in the 89th minute, before Alex Simoni sealed the win in stoppage time with a goal in the 91st minute. The late goals capped off a resilient team performance and ensured a memorable end to a brilliant day for the C6 teams.
