The Foundation Receives New Minibus, Thanks to Generous Community Support!
The Swindon Town Community Foundation is delighted to announce the arrival of a brand-new, wheelchair-accessible minibus, a crucial addition that will greatly enhance its ability to serve the community. This vehicle, the first of its kind for the Foundation, has been made possible thanks to a fantastic collective effort with generous contributions from the Swindon Town FC Business Group, Swindon Town Official Supporters Club, TrustSTFC, EFL in the Community, EFL Sky Bet Building Foundation Fund and our local companies that have sponsor boards at Foundation Park.
The minibus will allow the Foundation to expand its outreach across Swindon and the surrounding areas, helping more people access its programmes in sports, education, and social inclusion. With its new wheelchair-accessible features, the minibus will provide essential transport for participants who previously faced barriers to engagement, ensuring that the Foundation’s commitment to inclusivity reaches every corner of the community.
Shane Hewlett, Head of the Swindon Town FC Community Foundation, expressed his gratitude for the invaluable support, saying:
“We are incredibly thankful to everybody who contributed to the fundraising efforts for this new minibus and in particular the collaboration of the three main supporters groups, the Swindon Town FC Business Group, Swindon Town Official Supporters Club, and TrustSTFC for their generous contributions. This new wheelchair-accessible minibus is a game-changer for us. It means we can transport more people than ever before, including those with mobility challenges, to our programmes and events. This will greatly enhance our ability to support vulnerable groups, whether it’s delivering sports programmes for children, bringing seniors to community activities, or assisting schools with educational trips.”
The Swindon Town Community Foundation works tirelessly to promote sports participation, education, health and social inclusion across all age groups in the region. With its wide range of programmes and community outreach, this new vehicle will directly benefit those who need access the most, ensuring no one is left behind.
We love our supporters.
And we love what we do. But we couldn’t do it without these great people that get behind us. Be a supporter.
