Rockin’ Robin Spreads the Joy of Reading on World Book Day
Today, schools across Swindon received a special World Book Day surprise as Rockin’ Robin took to the streets to celebrate the power of reading.
The STFC Foundation, alongside the club’s much-loved mascot Rockin’ Robin, visited several schools to hand out free books to excited pupils. The visits brought smiles, excitement, and plenty of new stories for children to dive into.
The book giveaway forms part of a wider initiative led by the Premier League and the National Literacy Trust in Swindon, aimed at encouraging more children to develop a love of reading. Through the programme, over 120,000 free books are being distributed to primary schools across England and Wales.
By bringing books directly into classrooms, the initiative hopes to inspire young readers and ensure every child has the chance to discover the joy, imagination, and opportunity that reading can unlock.
With Rockin’ Robin helping to deliver the books in person, World Book Day in Swindon was filled with excitement, laughter, and a renewed enthusiasm for reading.

And we love what we do. But we couldn’t do it without these great people that get behind us. Be a supporter.
