From Holiday Courses And After-School Clubs To The World Stage!
Maria’s love for football began right here at Swindon Town F.C where she Attended our holiday courses and after-school clubs, she quickly found a passion for the game. With the encouragement of dedicated coaches like Abby, Maria grew in confidence and belief, inspired to chase her dream of becoming a women’s football player. Those early sessions laid the foundation for everything that followed.
As the years passed, Maria’s determination only grew stronger. She remembered proudly lifting her very first trophy at just 11 years old, a moment that fuelled her ambition and showed her what was possible. Step by step, through hard work and resilience, she continued to push herself, proving that big dreams can start in small places.
Now 21, Maria represents England in Para football and recently celebrated an incredible achievement at the IFCPF Women’s World Cup in India, where she helped her team secure a World Cup silver medal. From local sessions in Swindon to a World Cup final on the international stage, Maria’s journey is a powerful reminder that with belief and perseverance, anyone can achieve what they set their heart on.
