Swindon Town FC Community Foundation is committed to improving the health and lives of all participants. With this in mind, the Foundation have been in discussions with Swindon Borough Council and South Swindon Parish Council about acquiring and developing the dormant bowls club adjacent to Foundation Park.

The bowls club site has not been in use for over 3 years and during this time has seen issues with anti-social behaviour, drug-taking and rough sleepers.

The aspirations will be to create a covered facility that will further enhance the Foundation Park offer and significantly improve the experience for many user groups. Being covered and sheltered from the elements, the facility will be well suited to accommodating the needs of the more vulnerable, elderly and younger members of the Swindon community who would benefit greatly from training and playing within more comfortable and favourable conditions. 

We are now consulting local residents, our Community Foundation participants and user groups, with regards to a proposed investment in building a covered sports facility.
